Hauschka-Ferndorf

Dusseldorf-based pianist / composer Volker Bertelmann (a.k.a. Hauschka) expands his expoloration of the solo, "prepared piano" (modifying the instrument by placing different objects on the strings to reveal different tones, etc.), first championed by John Cage. This fourth outing by Hauschka sees the producer branching out to include various combinations of trombone, violin and cello in his arrangements. The result is a gorgeous take on modern day chamber music without sacrifice to the artists' edgy, experimental nature.
